DAHLIAS - 1990 One of the original neighbors in Munson Creek of Marysville, Washington inspired this painting of the dahlia flower. Susan Fonda has the greenest thumb I know without actually owning a nursery. She would bring me these spectacular beauties that were larger than life! I painted them sitting on my back deck on a wonderful northwest afternoon. Grumbachers Finest Paints were used in the colors of Paynes gray, cadmium yellow and reds to complete this piece. |
